Since 2003, founder Evelyn Engstrom has served the Luxury Interior Design and Hospitality Trades, offering high quality, Swedish made Indoor / Outdoor rugs.

Evelyn learned the rug trade at a highly respected Custom Rug Design firm in Norwalk, CT. She has experience in wool, cotton, and linen weaving, and she managed the firm for 8 years after 4 years of learning to hand-dye wool yarns, weaving, and the business part of it.

When visiting Sweden for the first time with her husband Jan, she came across a mill in the middle of nowhere weaving PVC rugs.
She was intrigued, ordered 5 rolls in 5 different colors. Evelyn then started contacting local stores to see if they want to sell them.

A store in Darien, CT was her best wholesale customer from the start and helped her to get her rugs sold to homeowners with second homes in Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and Palm Beach.

Evelyn decided to take the risk to start her own business selling these one-of-a-kind rugs.

The first NY Tradeshow was a success. From then on, MYC became a household name
